My memento from 1922 is a dress scrap that I got during the 20s.
It means a lot to me because it was what helped me fit in the 20s. There was a
culture phenomenon called the roaring 20s and this helped me relate to other
women. Also it was a very fashionable dress during the 20s that many women wore.
It was something that made feel like I belong into this time

This necklace is another memento that helped me fit in to the
culture of the roaring 20s. What the roaring 20s was is American culture
changing in the 20s such as women being more free and wilder. This piece helped
me identify with women such as my previous memento that was my dress scrap.
This piece reminds me of a better time when America was not in a depression and
everyone was prospering. This memento represents the way America was during the
early 20s and it shows everyone was doing well in the early 1920s.

During 1920's,
my family does not own
a radio, but my neighbor does.
Almost every day my family and I visit his house just to hear
music and talk shows.
For this radio is the reason why we know
every kid in our neighborhood. Every time when our parents goes and
visit my neighbor house, we know our
friends are also
coming. Playing games or just hearing the radio, made me feel happy. Not only
hearing music was interesting,
I learn amazing stories like Charles Lindbergh who travel an one
engine plane across the Atlantic
Ocean and survive the travel and becoming
the first pilot to travel across the
Atlantic
ocean. Also since this is the only things for our family
entertainment, it brought us together a bit. But in the end my parents end up
fight each other
again.

I decided to keep my medals from the Great War because if shows
me that with great horror of wars there is also good and some bad. During the
war Americas economy significantly rose and it really helped the cons of that war
was having to serve in it but after watching movies of the war it seemed more
like an adventure over there then danger. Riding on horseback in nice shiny
uniforms marching in straight lines. Videos made young men like me want to go to
war thinking it would be fun. These Medals tell me that I served America to help
it thrive and flourished. They say, John Miller thank you for risking your life
so others can live in peace. Sadly the war made many of us wanting to forget is.
This shows how prohibition started and the age of drinking was not gone. Soldiers myself drank more of horrid
we saw over there. We knew what we did was right, hell we fought hard and now we party hard

I keep a picture of me, my friends, soldier buddies anyone
really. During times inside of the bar it felt like the happiest places of our
life. We drank alcohol like water and had no regard to the laws but who cares.
The law enforcers had no regard for the law as well. I find myself drinking
with some officers as well. I keep this picture as a memory of all the good
times I had when I was young, it helps me feel happy when I need
to.
