This dollar bill is a memento for the dark times during the
1930s known as the Great Depression. The reason for this is it is to remind us
about the depression and to help make reforms to prevent them. It was hard to
find a job in 1932 and having money was rare when you don’t have a job. This
dollar was what I had left and was worthless since we couldn’t buy much with it.
No one will forget this since it affected a lot of Americans and this will
remind me of this

This is a picture of our old apartment when we were living in
it. The reason I keep this picture is to remind me of our old peaceful life
before we lost it and became homeless. Many Americans became homeless when the
stock market crashed and we were one of the people who were affected. This also
was giving me hope that things would go back to normal. Eventually people were
getting jobs with the New Deal and was

Before the great
depression had started in 1929, I never did watch a
movie for entertainment. Now that depression
had happen to all of us, I heard that movies helps you
relax a bit and forget about it for
a while. Since I never watch a
movie, I have tried the get every penny that I could get
to pay for a movie ticket. By
looking on the ground for money or sell the
furniture that my family no longer used. The poster that I found on a wall was a
movie poster called
Karloff The Uncanny Mummy and it was the first movie that I wanted
to see. With the money that I got it
was enough for my brother to also to come with me. The movie has great sounds and
acting that I thought that is was real. But the most amazing part was how the
film was display, it looked as if I was there in the movie witnessing
everything that it has to offer. It made me forget about every
part of the Great Depression and that I was enjoying with
joy. Until when the movie had finished me
and my brother were recounting scene that we like. Until we went outside of the
theater realizing that the Great Depression is still out there. But It also
made me realize that we can still get some joy from other things like the movie that i just
saw.

I remember the times where we felt like we were really living the
“American Dream”. Once the depression hit no one felt like that anymore.
Everyone lost their jobs their homes, and even things that were personal to
them. This baseball glove was very personal to me and I was not going to sell
it. Baseball has been a big sport in America despite the conditions it is in
baseball is always there. I bought this glove along with my sons to remember the
good times I had with them when they were growing up. But now their men now and
are leaving one trains. But at least I will have this glove so I can remember
that America was once a place full of
happiness.

Through these hard times of the great depression there is
poverty, unemployed, homeless, and hungry and my family is all three. We are
breaking apart and there is just too much stress between us. Some of us our
leaving while the rest is dying in sadness. You would think the great
depression is bad everywhere but not in the theatre. In theatre or in movies
you can basically escape your troubles and feel happy again. It was like a
drug, addicting and felt good. It was not to high in price and made us
Americans feel like we had some hope to
change.
